UAE Thrissur Pooram 2025 was a large cultural festival organized by the MMDE Thrissur UAE Community in Dubai to recreate the spirit of Kerala’s famous Thrissur Pooram for Malayalees living in the UAE. It focused on celebrating Kerala’s traditions, music, percussion, and community togetherness.
Some highlights included:
- Traditional Panchavadyam and Chenda Melam performances.
- Colorful Kudamattam (umbrella exchange) inspired by the original Thrissur Pooram.
- Kerala folk arts and cultural programs.
- Family entertainment, food stalls, and activities for children.
- Participation from thousands of Malayalees across all seven Emirates.
The organizers describe the event as an effort to preserve the cultural heritage of Thrissur while bringing the UAE Malayalee community together. The community has grown to more than 500 active members and organizes multiple cultural events each year.
